A BIT ABOUT ME

I'm a Yurok Tribal member and a descendant of the Hupa and Karuk tribes. I grew up on the Hoopa Valley Reservation surrounded by the cultures of the Hupa, Yurok, and Karuk people. I had the honor of learning basket weaving, hearing my peoples' cultural stories, and witnessing the sacred ceremonial dances.

My upbringing has significantly shaped my perspective and has guided me on my path as a copy editor. Although I edit a variety of work, my background and knowledge has led me to working with many Indigenous organizations and authors. I edit to amplify Indigenous voices, to refine their work, and—most importantly—to do so while preserving their voice. Each writer has a unique perspective and I prioritize the preservation of that perspective above all else.
